Welcome to my nessmp3 blog. I have been involved in music all my life and invite all to share my experiences. I started out many years ago in the early days of Rock ‘n’ Roll, and have played in many bands performing everything from Rhythm & Blues to Folk. My personal repertoire encompasses Modern Country, Bluegrass and Sixties Pop, the balance varies according to venue and audience. I like to feel I am fairly flexible, but I avoid chart pop music unless there is something really outstanding there. My audiences tend to be people of my own era and age group. I have always had a love of musical instruments, particularly stringed instruments, and my collection includes acoustic guitars, electric guitars, a pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitars, dobro-type lap steel guitars, a five string banjo, an autoharp and an Appalachian dulcimer. On most of my solo gigs I use backing tracks, many of which I produce myself on a digital 8-track recorder synced to an old Amiga computer running MIDI tracks. As part of the Bluegrass Band UNION CENTRAL, I play acoustic guitar, dobro and banjo, also singing some lead vocals and harmony vocals. Please have a look at UNION CENTRAL's own pages on nessmp3. |
