Our gig at the Globe in Aberdeen went really well and it was lovely to see some old friends there too. Don’t forget the chocolate cake you promised us for next time Barbara!
I had not played with Piet and Terry for a while but we got into it from the word go. By now, it is like swimming…
We even played two new songs, ‘In Awe’ and ‘Amazing’. The second one I had played in France, but not yet with Piet and Terry, and they totally nailed it. The first one I sprang on them. I started playing and we just jammed on it. It felt great. It is so brilliant to be playing wth Piet and Terry again.
The future is a little uncertain because Terry is getting more and more busy with his own music band Shaughnessy, with recordings and lots of interest from all sorts of people, but I really hope he will be able to keep playing in GILES too.
After the gig Seb and I stayed the night with Boomshra, from CouchSurfing. Of course we ended up jamming til three with her, her partner and her lodger. Such lovely and very interesting people. Thanks for making us feel so welcome guys!
Today, we are off to Fort William, where we will be performing at the BA Club. We have never been there before, but the area is really beautiful and they seem really keen to have us play, so I am looking forward to it. First some breakfast, then pack the trailer and off we go. We will be taking pictures. Unfortunately, we forgot to take the cable to connect to the computer, so I can’t actually post any yet until Monday or so.
