Since when has it been the intelligent answer to burn stuff that should be recycled????? Here in Invergordon they were going to build an incinerator that would burn all the household rubbish from all parts Scotland. That was until we stopped them. Yes, we ran a successful campaign in the summer of '09 and that's when I wrote the song, "It Was Madness". It took me 1 and a half days to write and practically 'wrote itself'. I'd been so immersed in the subject of the health implications of incineration that all the lyrics where there in my head. I woke up one Saturday and the verse tune was already there and got up and wrote the rest.
Back to the topic... It makes no sense to burn vital resources. We plunder the Earth to make products for us to use and then they should be reused or recycled and if they can't be then there's something wrong with the system. The people who are at fault are the manufacturers of non recyclable goods and US for buying them!!!!
Once the manufacturers have been fined a few times for making un-environmentally friendly goods they soon stop making that rubbish and so we can live free of the fear of incineration.
